I have a 1981 SEARS GT which I bought new. It needs the hood repaired like so many others grom that era with fiberglass hinges and brothers who watch the impliments instead of the trees.
I recently purchaced two old MF10 garden tractors and I need so many parts and directions on where and who are good sorces for parts it just appears the old Techumseh engines are hard to find people who have reliable part.
My searches for HH100 got me the parts lists from large commercial people and I was hoping to get something from the web connection. The rectifier voltage regulator and I need two, it seems to be cheaper from Sears at $170 bucks, when in stock, than most other sources.
One of the engines has a starter ring on the flywheel but someone has put a starter generator on it but the flywheel cover and head cover wern't with the tractor when I got it. I have purchased a starter for it but sure could use the covers to keep it cool when I get it running.
I have gotten Ed Stoller's (edstoller@earthlink.net) information and can solve any spark problems if it is needed.
Carburetors seem to have become scarce and hard to purchase but here again SEARS seems to have a source of parts but "on back order" appears as popular as "in stock and your order will be shipped today".
Jacks small engines, DIXIE ELECTRIC, PARTS TREE, and many others I have looked up but the shields are priced too high and there are some leads locally through craigs list which seem promising.
I'm in need of a regulator for the starter/generator or the regulator/rectifier for the engine stator.
So, my question to the group, where can I get parts that arn't priced like their gold plated.
