and Proud New Owner of an 1862 Cub Cadet
Hello all, I'm David in Central Ky. As a youth I learned to operate a Cubby made in the early 1970's, the hydrostatic drive was a seller as was the total quality of the tractor and attachments. The Cub tractor I operated in East Texas in San Jacinto Co., while on an extended summer vacation. It was the Summer Kris Kristofferson's song 'Why me Lord' was a hit. I loved the tractor.
I grew up with many John Deere implements on the family owned farm of 300 acre farm in South Central Kentucky.
I believe this Cub is a valuable purchase for me and a treasure of a working vehicle.
I Googled this site to learn about this 1862 unit and got the info I believed was good enough to decide upon this tractor to look at.
So far I'm impressed with the 1862. A great bang for the bucks spent.
The only problem was when greasing the mower pulleys, the first one I attempted to grease, the fitting stuck to the gun fitting, when prying them apart the fitting stripped out of the pulley. The fitting was made of aluminum. Hopefully I can use steel fittings in the place of those and all be well.
Looking forward to a grand time of reading and posting here on this forum.
