I'm a newbie!! No taps - no equipment. I have 6 big sugars in front yard and about 1000 ( 2.5 tap/tree) road/yard trees within 15 minutes of my farm. I hope to build my arch and RO this winter after hunting season. Goal is 100 taps in 2013 with equipment designed/built for 1000 - 1200 taps. Pretty agressive but I have nothing to do in March but sit on couch! I need a late winter hobby! My brother lived in N. Ontario for 7 years. Pickle Lake.

I am very interested in your RO build. I too am up sizing my operation. I recently cut out all new material on the plasma table for my arch and purchased a new pan from SmokeyLake Maple. I plan on somewhere around 150-250 taps on vacuum to my sugar camp. I have made syrup for years but with only 30 or so taps.

Goal is 100 taps in 2013 with equipment designed/built for 1000 - 1200 taps

I think you may not even have enough sap with 100taps to fire up your evaporator without scorching your pan.
