John Deere 650
We have a couple small tractors, a Ford 600 and a John Deere 650. I'm currently having starter problems with the Deere and I'm hoping to get some help from this forum. I've already seen quite a bit of useful information.

The tractor will not turn over with a good battery and new starter. I'm in the process of troubleshooting the start circuit and safety switches.

A good place to start is to get a copy of the service tech manual, which will have schematics and the entire contents for working on your 650. Go online, or to your Deere dealer to get a copy. Worth it..

Welcome to TBN
Clean & tighten all 4 battery cable connections. Battery cable can appear good but be corroded inside of insulation.

Bench test the starter. I've gotten a bad one, new in the box (for a truck, not a tractor) Oh, WELCOME from SW MI. :welcome:

Wouldn't turn over before the new Starter either?

What test did you perform to diagnose that you needed to replace the starter??

Do you have battery voltage at the key switch? (In and Out)

What interlock switches have you tested/verified?
