But, mechanically they are the same aren't they?
I don't have a parts manual for that model. I need to get one, but haven’t. I would think that they are, but they may have reinforcements in the frame for heavier work. Maybe spb1971 will have some insight into the differences if any.

Jerry, are parts manuals readily available to the general public? If so, where can they be obtained from? Although the GC2300 is a fairly stout tractor, I can see where the GC2310 might call for a little more re-enforcement in the rear, but I believe that all I would need to do to convert my 2300 into a 2310 would be a swivel seat and the backhoe. Of course this is just from me comparing the two side by side.I'll tell you one thing that I am having a difficult time in finding and that is the minature light sockets that is used in the dash panel. I would like to install a light in the fuel guage so that I can see it at night when when I am out working it. It's a minature, rubber base that pushes into the socket.

So far today I have gone through about 10 gallons of diesel moving sand from the front to the back so that I can work it into this gumbo-mud for planting.

My wife has become a MF widow. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes. You can get them from your dealer.

and they just don't understand.

According to my dealer the GC2310 comes with a different and heavier sub frame to accomodate the BH. In order for the GC2300 to get the BH you would have to have the sub frame changed out.

As for the manuals i already have my set to look at. They came with the tractor but i'm sure a dealer can order replacements.

Should have the tractor by Wednesday of this week. My 5 year old son is waiting patiently while the old man sweats it out.

Does your manual show a different frame for the 2300 and 2310?

I haven't seen anything concerning the differences between frames yet but i'll keep looking.

The reason i brought this up is based on looking at a used GC2300 from the dealer i just purchased my 2310 from. I asked him if i purchased the use 2300 could i add a BH later on. He said i could be it would be alot more expensive since they'd also have to change out the subframe of the 2300 so i could put a BH on it.

I did not look to closely between the 2300 and 2310 frames to identify a difference but i might swing by there today.

And, if I was wanting to sell you a new tractor, that's probably what I would tell you too. I'm sure a dealer would stand to make more money selling an entire tractor than just selling and installing an implement. If this is really the case, then MF would be making two different subcompacts.

Of course that just my opinion, I could be wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi I think the dealer was refering to an additional frame for the BH. On my MF1260 they do not recomend useing just the 3pt. Maybe thats what he ment.

I's say that's it.

The GC2310 and GC2300 are basically the same tractor with these exceptions. The loader mount on the GC2310 is different than the one for the GC2300 as it allows the backhoe sub-frame to tie together. The 3-point lift arms on the GC2310 are different to allow clearance for use around the backhoe sub-frame (this way you do not have to remove the sub-frame to use the 3-point lift). The seat mechanism and ROPS are different as well. The dealer was correct that if you were able to add the backhoe it would be expensive. That is why it is not sold separately.
