I phoned two dealers this last week inquiring about a 2410 or 2710. One was completely out of anything ending with a "10" and the other only had a 2710 which was currently on display at a fair. Both dealers seemed to have 7500's and 7800's available. I inquired further regarding when they might be expecting another shipment and they thought sometime in October. However, both indicated that a new "economy" model was in the works that will be positioned between the 7500 and the 7800. One thought it might replace the 2410. The other thought it would be in addition to the 2410 because it would have the 1/4 inching feature on the 3 pt and not position control. Regardless of whether it replaces the 2410 or not, it does seem to make sense to offer another economy model tractor in-between the 7500 and 7800.

I don't know any details about what the new models will feature, but I do know that the B7400, B7500, and B2410 models are all being discontinued. The B7800 is priced the same as a B2410, so it makes sense to re-think that model and the overall pricing structure. Dealers will have the scoop after the first week of October.

The 10 series have been out for a while and are due to be replaced some time in 2004. What typically happens is they quit producing units to early and the new units take a little longer to come out and that causes a severe shortage to the point that Kubota will only ship tractors to dealers that have a retail sale waiting for one.

Can anyone else confirm the demise of the B7400/7500/2410 models from the line-up. I ordered a B2410 last week and am awaiting the backhoe's arrival prior to taking delivery. Anyone with advice on whether I should back out and wait for the new tractors, if this is in fact the case.

I think there is going to be an adjustment to the model line up. Why does this impact your tractor purchase. They won't be any cheaper. I certainly will not run out and trade my two in for whatever the new units are. There is a quite an overlap in Kubota's current line up so it would not surprise me if there was some stream lining. There has been a distinct shift in recent years with the market for small tractors. Private consumers now drive the lowend market so expect to see tractors from all makers that are more consumer/small homestead friendly. I have no info but suspect that a larger "BX like" tractor/tractors cannot be far away from Kubota. They have already gone smaller with the BX1500. Imagine a reverse flow engine set up like the BX but in a 2410 and 2710/2910 size range. More compact dimensions, fuel tank under the seat so it is easy to get to and enhanced user friendly intergrated features and attachments. It could be this year or next or never but we do seem headed that way. J

The only reason it would impact my purchase decision is if the new updated models offer additional features or increased capacities from a similar size/weight. I am sure I will be thrilled with the B2410 but, like anyone, I hate to put over $20,000 for a tractor/loader/backhoe on the table only to kick myself if the new model has some significant new feature or improvement to the existing design. I'm sure the new ones won't be any less money, given the sales year everyone says all the manufacturers are having. Its like buying a new automobile just before a re-design. The old model probably works great, but the new one might offer significant updating that would make it worth the wait.

About this new model stuff I bought my 4300 right before they went to the switch of the new TEN series. I prefer my 4300 over a 4310. I think its better built. Not as much plastic on it around the seat. So sometimes old is better. Not trying to start a debate about e hydro and 4300s over 4310s just stating my opinion.

I really would be surprised to see any huge changes. Kubota's trend lately has been to offer mostly refinements and upgrades with the new models. There is only a handful of minor differences between, say, a B2400 and a B2410.
The streamlining process has been ongoing for several years. Anyone remember when Kubota had the B42-52-62-72-82-9200 series and the B15-17-2150 models offer for 2-3 years?
I know if I was looking for a new tractor now, I wouldn't hesitate to buy for fear of a new model being substantially different.

I just got a BX2200 last month. Little brother to my B2910. One fear I had was that I was going to get one with a lot of BX [meant to type bs] laywer-driven safety interlocks that would prevent me from lifting my butt off the seat on a hot day to repostion, without shutting down the engine. None of those were there on the bx that was delivered to me. Made my day. BUT I bet they will be present on new BXs, whatever else they might offer...

The B7800 is a new model. But there is nothing new over the B2910 from what I understand...The B7800/B2710/B2910 are not that much bigger than the B2410. If you are worried about Features...you might consider a step larger than the 2410. I had decided on the 2410 but at the last minute changed to the B2910. Best move I ever made in my opinion...

The 2910 is not a big tractor. Gets smaller as you use it. I would not want anything smaller now for things other than grass cutting. Grass cutting...well...I have the bx2200 for that as of last month...guess that means take what I say with a grain of salt... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would bet everything I own on it. NH is doing much of the same thing with the saftey switches all over. Thier compacts have all kinds of them all over. If you are working in brush it can cause problems. But as you said the laywers out there are the ones driving this side of the tractor evolution.
