We were going up this weekend but tropical storm Barry shut us down. The guy/company selling it won't discuss it over the phone unless im buying it??? Im not buying it sight unseen, its been up for sale for 6 weeks. Its a 2.5 hour drive North for me on my ride up to my lease. 3k for the tractor and no other info, no hours, other than it runs good.

I might not wait a week, if he has a decent price on it it may be gone in a few days if it's sitting out on the lot visible and he had made not promises to you.
Clemsonfor, I gree with your entire post.

And this point is most important - get moving on buying that or it will be gone immediately if it checks out ok. When I bought the YM240 - first day it was listed - the seller took a couple of inquiry calls during our transaction. YM2210 is a desirable model, he may get calls from all over. Take a $100 bill the first time you look at it to lock in the price if you want it. A promise to return on Monday with a check won't hold it, if a serious customer arrives before then.

$3,000 is a better price than a YM2210 would go for, here in the West. I would say up to $5k here, if its pretty and ready to put in service without any work.

$3000 is a steal and a solid price. Of it was me I would drive that today to look at it. Or get off work an hour or two earlier tomorrow and drive up. 2.5 hours is not really that far. I will drive 3 hours one day for work all the time. Drive up work and drive back. But I like to drive and don't mind it.

I agree that's a good deal though and a desired bullet proof model.

I would agree with the guys saying to go get if you have not!
The YM2210 is 22hp at the PTO. It should spin a 5 ft brush cutter through thick tall stuff with no issues. Mine is 20 hp at the PTO and rarely has issues with the brush cutter. If you stay after your mowing you can probably run a 6 ft one with little issues.
I have a friend that has a 10 series yanmar and I wish often that mine was.

if it's been for sale for 6 weeks. It will most likely be there when you are able to get there.
If it isn't, I'll sell you mine

You will not sell me yours as you are confused. I have mine and have had for several years. But sell yours to the guy who missed the sell because he did what you suggested and waited. And sell it for $3000!

read the post, or do you want me to read it for you ?
He didn't go because of the tropical storm. Not on my advise.
I never offered advise.
I made a statement. ''It's been there for 6 weeks, it will MOST LIKELY be there when you are able to get there''

Do you know the difference in advise and a statement ?
