3-Point Hitch New Owner CK2610HST- What are you doing with a tow bar this big?

The tractor nomenclature for part in picture is rear/center DRAWBAR.
Tractors are designed to PULL. Drawbars need to be heavy.

To easily attach/remove a tow chain you need a pin clevis grab hook, not a bolt on grab hook. You may need a shim/coupler to make clevis pin fatter.

Tractor Supply Company sells clevis hooks. I presume TSC is in Seattle too. TSC sells shims too.

A 7/8" size shackle (Crosby) fits perfectly. I use a bolt type and it never comes off. I keep a "keyhole" grab link on the ahackle for quick chain hook ups. Gravity keeps the keyhole out of the way and rope, strap, or cable are easily hooked up with another shackle.

By the way, I have the same tractor as you and I also live in your area.

I realize now that my question was very poorly worded. Thanks for specifying the hardware, they have it at the local TSC, so I just paid for it online.

Also, ever had something that's way overkill for the situation, but you have it, so what the heck? I was given some new 1- 1/2" Dyneema rope, with a breaking strength greater than 200,000 lbs. I find that amazing, and it's easy on the hands. I had even tried my hand at marlinspikemanship, as shown. So I was trying to figure the best way to attach it, but in a way, why bother? It's bringing a tactical nuclear weapon to a fist fight. I'll just use the 5/16th chain.

I'll check the dimensions on the 7/8" shackle as it might work with the rope eye. Never thought to ask about local owners. Whom did you buy from? Town and Country? How many hours, any issues?

Thanks for the input, Toukow

Yes, T&C. I'm only at 10 hours yet -- no unexpected issues.

That looks useful! Is there a particular term for the piece bolted on top, or does it usually come as a complete assembly?
Its often called a Hammerstrap.
