Tractor
Kubota L3400
Hi all. First off, I'd like to thank all of the contributors to this great forum for helping me to decide which tractor would best suit my needs....been lurking around for a few weeks now.

My tractor is going to be delivered tomorrow....whooooohoooo!!
I decided on the L3400, gear drive, 4WD, with the LA463 FEL, also purchased a 72" finish mower. I'm moving up from a '52 Ford 8N, so I already had several 3 point implements, brush hog, scoop, tiller, lift boom, and plow. I used the 8N mostly for gardening type chores and brush hogging....man...how I envied anyone with a live pto... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.

The L3400 with the industrial tires (rim guard), folding ROPS and FEL priced out at $15,595 without tax.
Looking forward to sharing info with everyone here...I'm gonna go stare out the window now...tractor should be here in about 24 hours. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't blame you one bit. Of course, with that much time to stare out the window, it will also give you plenty of time to plan your the photo layout that you'll be posting here tomorrow, right? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congradulations on your new L3400 /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
If you ever decide to get a QD attachment for your FEL for skid steer forks the 3pt boom will be a thing of the past and your scoop will probably not see much time anymore with a FEL.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I can see where I'd probably not use the scoop anymore, but whats a QD attachment? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif...I guess once I understand that, I'll see why I won't need the boom anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'll post pics just as soon as I can, probably not before the weekend though...gotta feeling I'll be busy until then. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

QD "quick disconnect" it allows you to remove your bucket an attach other things like skid steer forks, a great upgrade.

Great choice!!

My wife surprised me with your exact unit this spring -- after months of careful and specific begging, of course!

I can't say I've ever been happier with a tractor. It sure is a vast improvement over the 1950's-70's machines I grew up using (like your 8N).

Take a look at Soundguy's ballast on the Favourite ballast discussion. I recently made one spending around 12$ for the cement. What a difference to the loader performance...you could achieve the same carrying and implement, but without the compactness in most cases.

Congratulations!

Go easy on the Canuck brew, eh!? Geez, it's like, 5:1 of your Yankee brews to one of our babies.

After feeling the rear wheels floating in thin air on the side of a steep hill a few times, I'd say I'm happy to have the ROPS there. Never needed it -- hope I never do. I DO feel your pain...
