I second murphy 1244. The bucket needs to be much flatter to get a good finish. If you have double action lift rams this is easy. If you have single action lift rams then you need to get some ballast in the bucket (not so much it falls out) . I used to drive an mf240 fel and back blade on foot path ,and car park and sand pad (foundations) work . That tractor had a change over valve to operate the 3ph OR the fel.
Is your gear box 8 sp or 6sp?

Here is quick update on my starting and hydraulics issues. The mechanic (not a dealer but a rural guy who owns a garage that "fixes everything" said the only problem with the starting system was the alternator not working, so he replaced it. Regarding the hydraulics he said they traced the issue to a filter being completely clogged. He pointed out that it was a filter that was not mentioned in either of the manuals I had purchased (Op and shop) so they had to do a bit of hunting to find it. Anyhow both the 3PH and FEL now work according to him. We get it back tomorrow so will post new information as it becomes available.

So I looked at the manual and it definitely has the hydraulic oil filter mentioned on the underside of housing. I guess that the mechanic who serviced it just couldn't find it in the Op manual. Here is a picture of it. image.jpg
