Hi.
I just bought an International 300 Utility with the original loader but no power steering. I expect to have numerous questions for all of you who are willing to tolerate them - hopefully answer them, too. To begin with - it almost goes without saying - I seek advice about possibly adding power steering. I've been told it can't be done, but have a hard time accepting this (without hearing it a few more times, at least).
I've read on TractorByNet about thoroughly cleaning the gear box, filling it with grease, and replacing the drain plug with a grease zert to keep it filled. Mentioned also were a couple things already planned: Get new three-rib tires and lift the sucker up to spin the steering wheel. It gets really easy, then - about like my Aunt Geneva's 1964 Bonneville! Of course, this could become pretty comical if one got into the habit a little too deeply... And it could slow things down a bit.
I'm going to thank you in advance. I am older than the tractor I just bought and memory gets murky at times. I might forget my manners later..
So, thanks.
Junius
