I have been reading about spreading seed on top of an already established field. I have some timothy fields (about 10 acres) that I would like to have more grass growing on. I just planted them this year. Will this set up work - I have a pull behind spring tooth harrow and a 3pth broadcast spreader. Will pulling the harrow and spreading at same time with timothy seed do the job and what time of year do you do it in western Pa.. I am guessing in the fall sometime.

Thanx

Definitely wait for the fall or spring barticus. What you have said will work but make sure that the grass is also short when you do it. One thing grass needs is good sunlight. If you overseed and leave the other grass grow tall it won't get started.
