Keith, your tractor sounds nice. At 2900 lbs your 4410 is almost two of mine. With attachments your weight goes weigh up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif My 4100 is roughly 1500 lbs stripped. With a loader & auger, mine approaches 2300, and up to 2700 with a heavy mower. I don't think your HP helps but it sure doesn't hurt. The final difference is the ground. Mine is clay with rocks throughout. When dry its like concrete and the auger spins uselessly. When wet, I don't even connect the down pressure as it isn't needed. But there must be a point when even hard pan gives way. So what's your soil like? - Jonathan

My soil is mush now since all we have had this year in Western New York is rain - Argh! Under normal conditions it is heavy clay, no chance I was going to pass the perk test - $5,000 later for the snad filter. I heard nothing but bad things about PHD from friends and neighbors and was very hesitant but the bush hog with the down pressure has made a believer out of me.
