New remotes plumbing questions regarding returns

When plumbing a series of valves (say 3 or more) does it matter where all the return (tank) lines connect (T) together?

Can I run a direct return line from the last valve in the series to the tank and then just add "T"s at convenient points on said line at the other valves to connect their return lines?

do I need any check valves? on the returns at the valves?

If the hose is large enough, and you have no or low back pressure you should be OK.

I was planning on using 3/8 tubing (5.8 GPM max)...what would cause back pressure?

What is an alternative? placing stacked T's right at the tank inlet and runing individual lines from each valve?

Too much flow for the size of the hose, and any kind of restriction, crimped hose. Maybe a return filter, etc.


Your return needs to be big enough to handle max pump output. Three returns into one would also work.

Since it is unlikely you will be operating all three valves at the same time, and the OUT ports on the valve (assuming hooked up with PB) only carry waste oil from the work ports, 3/8" hose and adding Tee's at any convenient location is fine. No check valves needed.
