Like so many have said, blunt edge on brush hog blades... Anywhere about 1/16 to 1/8" blunt... Like said, this to shatter weed stalks in multiple places and as far down the stalk from where cut to the ground.. Field grasses will usually shear off and rebound and grow back more quickly than weed stalks..
My little brother was the small engine expert.. He said grass mowing blades could be as sharp as you want because people think that is the way they should be... His concern was the angle of the blade of at least 65 to 70 degrees up from the flat bottom leaves the best cut and is best for manicured grass.. He saying many people sharpen blades like they were going to cut raw meat with the blade.. That being way too shallow an angle.. Once you try it, you can see the difference in too shallow an angle on the blade in the finish on the grass...
