Hey Tact, before I added the zippers/lights I used to put some Bulldog clips (big black metal paper clip looking things) along the front edge and back edge, three in front and three in back. That held it down on the highway. That way I didn't need to fool with putting in on at the hunt. I don't think it makes much difference from a visual standpoint (My cab top is black) but I suspect it stops some of the scratches from cruising under the trees.

I'll just put my top on when I get to the hunting grounds. It's not really a big deal but it's somewhat a pain in the a**. Good lookn' buggy you got there! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Andrew,

VERY NICE setup!!!

Quick question on the spreader you mounted on the front. Is it slung over the flat metal of the grill guard (where it's cut out for RTV)?
I have the same spreader but mounted mine in the rear. Never thought of putting in the front. Also, since it's rarily used, I mounted a light under the box pointing backward (so I can see when connecting a trailer or ground lighting when backing up at night) and use the wiring harness from the spreader.

Brian, I drilled two holes in the flat "RTV" plate in the front and hung the mounting plate there. I like being able to watch it work when I corn a road. I don't plan on hauling a trailer, since anything I have would fit in the bed, but I like the idea of a back up light. I think I'll wait and see how much light I get from the rear work lights, since I have them pointed down. They won't do much down near the hitch, but they ought to light up the path behind me pretty good. Using the feeder harness for a light is pretty clever. I'll bet you could also use the back up beeper option kit to power a small light when the beeper goes off.

I beleive this is the one he has.

Shortened Very Long URL

MikePA: Cleaned up long URL. Please review your message before posting it. It's simple not to do this. Just insert a descriptive word or two between the {url=http://whatever}Enter words here{/url} instead of the entire URL. Replace parentheses {} with square brackets in previous example.

Tact is right. I already sent ozgram an e-mail giving him the scoop. The only thing different is I took off the straps and used nylon wire ties to mount three small key ring size caribiners to the headache rack so I could easily and quickly pull the scabbard out and put it back in.

Here is the gun boot I want to get but it's a bit pricy until the more attachments are made for the tool bar (which is what the gun boots mount to).

Brian,

That looks like a good setup but I'd hate for my guns to be out in the elements, even if they are in a Kolpin boot. When I had Kolpin boots on an ATV I would sometimes get a lot of water from moisture and condensation inside when it was raining or snowing. I personally would feel better with some type of gun boot or case inside the cab. I've been considering a floor mounted gun rack but that takes up a lot of room in the front, but I guess you could always remove it when three people are riding. I also like the gun scabbard. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
