Thanks - I read through it and the ban does not include .22 rimfire.

I guess the NY ban on 24 ounce soda pop was so successful , that they felt it was time to step all over the Second Ammendment.

As sad as it is it sounds like someone could have a good business converting handgun magazines to the new 7 capacity standard. I can't think of any of the nicer 40 cal Glock's that have that capacity... even the Glock 27 has a 10 round capacity.

I wonder how this will effect law enforcement since a lot of them carry concealed off duty.

Heh.. I've heard that waterguns holding more than 16ounces are next on the list...

Yeah, its not good. There are so many handguns that are desgined to hold 15 rounds or so, but at least they had 10 round magizines available from the last high capicity magazine ban. It was very intentional and a "back door" way to ban a lot of hand guns by having the magazine limit at less than 10 rounds.

I also just read where they were letting their emotions drive them and wanting to pass the bill so quickly that they forgot to exempt law enforcement and military from the language of the law. That means that there are a lot of badge wearing criminals in New York today!

I think you might be confusing this New York legislation with the proposed Federal "assault weapons" ban.
