I think you need to ask PHILIP8N to post close-up pics of the actual text on his rear tires, & let you know his rear wheel diameter. It looks to me like maybe your new rear wheels have a smaller diameter. Something's gotta explain the big space between tire & fender on yours, vs much smaller on Philip's.

Maybe get the same info from him for the fronts, too, although your fronts "might" be the same size as his ... They also look a little small, though.

These attachements should help, right out of the manual. The L3940 and L5740 use the same size turfs. Mine are Tital Multi-Trac 'The Grizz', 44x18-20 4ply rear, and 29x12.5-15 6 ply front. Philip.

THANKS Philip for all the info. I'm sure that I have the same within my pile of manuals - just didn't think to look.

From the Kubota website, the configure page offers two turf variants - what's on your tractor and what's on mine. Mine definitely have shallower tread depth and gives a lowered ride (about 5"). Surprisingly, my rears appear to be 6-ply tires. In contrast, my fronts are listed as only 2-ply - that's a worry for me. I occasionally do a lot of heavy lifting with my grapple. Tread depth may also present problems if engaged in some aggressive disking or deep tilling - an unknown until I try. Of further note are the recommended tire pressures. For my tires, they are listed as 20psi front and 15 psi for the rears. Considering pressures on arrival (30psi front, 40psi rear; mounted by dealer), I was puttering around on some mounted mill stones.

Still haven't decided on my best option - more info to digest. There's pro's to both, just need to count the con's.

You have some really nice, expensive radial tires there. Except for the Low Side Wall and consequent low ground clearance/reduced speed, they are great for your job. The features of the design, however, do not really match your needs i.e. loping and sidewall heat build-up. I thought the tires on my L5740 looked wide at 17.5 but yours at 24 inches are super wide.

I'm seeing the numbers 44x18x20 for the TITAN Multi-Trac tires in this thread and on the Kubota website. Is this the appropriate size for my L5740? Can one go bigger? I'm not getting anywhere with my internet searches. Have found references to them, but no indication as to what they fit to. Also confused on number strings. Finding 44X1800X20 04 TITAN MULTTR C/S and 44X1800X20 06 TITAN MULTTR C/S. Are the 04 and 06 numbers indicative of ply strength?

Talked to my Kubota dealer this morning. He understands and appreciates my disappointment and is working on a possible swap if that's what I want. He's been great from the beginning - anything to please.

As far as kubota goes, yes, those 44x18x20s are your only other option. They are the same for 3240-5740. Believe me, they are quite large in person. The tires that a "kubota only" dealer will get will be that size ( titan multitrac 44x18x20) 4 ply rear, 6 ply front. I have been very happy with mine even in light mud. Have also rode around with a 1100 lb ballast box with little squat. Otherwise you will have to go aftermarket and I have no knowledge there. Goodluck.
