I am in the process of buying a new LX2610SU and having two rear remotes installed. The dealer called and said that I needed to come look at the tractor because Kubota no longer uses the pioneer couplers for remotes. Kubota now uses their own style of remotes and they are not compatible with pioneer couplers. Well horseradish!!!

I will go to the dealer tomorrow and look over the situation and post what I find.

Not only that but when you go to swap over to Pioneer fittings the mounts don't give you enough room to use the mounts with the larger fittings...or at least that was the case on my MX so now the ends are just bungeed to my ROPS until I can come up with a better solution.

That right there would keep me from buying one!

I guess they have to learn their lesson like deer did way back when.

we have enough laws.

Kubota only changes when their customers demand change.

It really bugs the crap out of me when proprietary stuff is used for no other reason but to force people to buy from the manufacturer. I think the practice is cynical at best and shows potential customers that the company really doesn't care about the customer. Even if the product is of high quality. Forcing customers to buy products made or approved by the manufacturer often limits choice because the manufacturer often does not make all the attachments that are used by a particular class of machines. at the end of the day though all we can do is not buy the product.

I'd buy aftermarket remotes elsewhere instead of fooling with some stupid proprietary coupler.

If the reason is size, bad. If they have something that couples under pressure, maybe not so bad. My nephews old internationals have special couplers, put them in place, pull a lever and it completes the attachment under any pressure. He has those couplers on his implements and when I use a piece of his equipment, I have a set of adapters. Now he has International, New Holland, and Kubotas - and a lot of adapters. But if I want to use one of his old Internationals and need to hook up to an implement that has been sitting in the sun so pressure has built up in each cylinder circuit, it’s an easy click, pull lever, and go. On mine, get out a rag to cover the end, rap the pioneer coupler against the frame, release pressure, then push to connect. Flat face couplers on my track loader and third function have really built up my arms as there is no easy way to relieve pressure. So does Kubota have a novel idea, or a nightmare with which to contend.
