I have invented a new sport. Couch fishing.

Required Materials:

1) Scumbag to dump a couch into the steep ravine by the creek.
2) Tractor, preferably with bucket loader and brush hog.
3) Ratchet straps and a hay hook.

Tie one end of the ratchet strap to your hay hook, and fling it repeatedly at the couch until you hook into it solidly. Use the bucket loader to lift the carcass out of the ditch. Tie it onto the brush hog and drag it home.

To gut your catch after you have it subdued, it's also handy to have a heavy duty pair of shears and a crowbar.

As the originator of this new sport, I claim the current world record. Related sports include: mattress, tire and appliance fishing.

I stored the gutted carcass out in the barn, I'm looking forward to soaking it in gasoline this winter and burning it to ashes. Too bad I can't do that with the former owner.

It's good you have some sense of humor with these things.

I've had to either develop a sense of humor, or find a clock tower and a high power rifle. Some of the things I have fished out of the ravines around here include: a king sized mattress, a truck topper, tires galore, tv's, computer monitors, a stove, a futon frame, and another couch. This is not to mention the beer cans, fast food refuse and other assorted trash people chuck out their car windows on a regular basis.

I will entertain myself with cheery thoughts of the scumbag's hair on fire while I am burning the couch this winter.

Or you could donate it to a needy family in West Virginia for their next big football victory.

Folks in West Virginia are experts on this topic. That couch should have been burned last weekend after WVU beat Baylor.west-virginia-burning-couch.jpg

I was disappointed when I opened your picture... I was hoping to see you hooking it and what you used for bait
