I should have been more clear, the local dealer told me that an aerator would run me $1500 but never actually said what brand or model he was talking about. Probably because I swallowed my tongue when he threw the quote out. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I figured I would support the local economy, what a mistake. When it finally came in the local guy wanted to charge me extra for the pins to connect it to the 3 point! If I had not paid for it in advance, I would have cancel the order, and called Ken and had a unit in a few days. )</font>
Yes, I have been going the local route as well but my loyalty hasn't gotten me very far I'm afraid so I'm giving up and going for what's best for me. The final straw for me was when the tractor wouldn't start in the cold for three days and the salesman's answer was "no one's would start". When I asked him if a block heater would help he said yeah and quoted me $300 for pick up and installation of a $40 part. A part, I might add, that I asked for in the first place and he talked me out of. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Let us know how that thing works for you, when the ground thaws out. Also tell us what kind of soil you're using it in.
I've had my eye on one to help keep the horse pasture from getting compacted. I'm just not sure it will work in my Texas clay. I sure wish I could find one locally to try before I buy.

When it gets warm, out comes the heat gun and off come the labels.... I might "re-brand" it with Kubota labels, but I am not one for any type of decals.... I wish the tractor didn't come with them..... easier to keep clean and no fading of the paint if they get old, crack and fall off..... The paint job leaves a lot to be desired, but with a couple of spray cans, I should be able to touch it up.... It is an implement to get used, so I can't go overboard with making it look pretty...
My soil is a mixture of clay with a top layer of gravel... poor drainage in many areas... Figure if it doesn't work well for my conditions, I can always sell it.. Thinking of a tiller also, but haven't researched them yet.. I have gone trough 2 cheap aerators over the last 10 years and my soil is not near as tough as yours sounds to be. But I have seen that unit and it looks to be 20 times tougher than the ones I had. I did find that just the right soil moisture seems to make a huge difference in how well they work and probably how long they last. Keep us posted on how it works out for you. Obviously I am in the market for a new one myself

ROFL, of all the various patients I've seen come thru the emergency door in DC, none has ever came in for a black eye. Gun shot, stab wound, heart attack, amputation, etc... yes, but never a black eye. I guess I may need some extra training for that. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
