yea he raised them up he said after the front tire dropped into the ditch - the loader arm was in the dirt so he lifted the arms so he could try to back up and that is when the entire tractor slid down into the ditch - he told me this weekend he went out and purchased a 9 foot sickle bar mower to mow ditches with now ;-)

I doubt it, he has some stomach issues/surgeries that he cant wear one unfortunately - hes lucky to still be alive from his 6 mo plus battle with an impacted bowel and staph infections, not to mention coding 2 different times and being brought back - his stomach was open for 6 to 9mos trying to get things all cleaned out before sewing him back shut

If I am in a situation like that, I can't have those loader arms any lower than practically touching the ground. I'm thinking this guy doesn't have a clue. He is in danger of tipping and he raises the loader? Did I understand that right?

that is how he had them after unsticking them from the dirt after the bank caved off and the front wheel fell in, with the front end in the ditch the angle needed to get them just touching the ground was the height they were at when it rolled over - the driver has been on tractors his entire life and is a certified tow operator for wreckers be it a rolloff, old school holmes or a rotator etc......he is well schooled on mechanics/leverage etc.... he is the last person in the world I would have ever expected to have something like this happen as he is not only a good operator he is cautious - I would trust him with anything I own in any situation and he would do a much better job than me - fyi - he is a certified rescue/recovery operator for Nascar and works those tracks also ;-) so to say he doesn't have a clue is not accurate in the slightest - I know I have had accidents in which I never in my wildest dreams could have predicted the outcome from the initial predicament ;-)

Yes. Raising CG and reducing weight on the rears where he needed it for traction and stability. A double whammy.

You know when stuff like that happens. It's often best to just FREAKING STOP! Get out and assess the situation from various angles and perspectives. Or go get experienced help.

He IS very lucky (and his tractor) this time.

agreed, I am learning that as well with age, look, think, call someone look some more, think, call another person, think some more, etc......usually multiple eyes are better than two fuzzy ones ;-)

A friend helped to move my tractor on his trailer. At the destination, I just didn't feel right about the sketchy burm used as a ramp and the tractor angle. He got on and drove it off like it was nothing. I felt foolish, but better safe than sorry I guess.

I was forced to make a turn too sharp to make and my trailer ended up stuck in a ditch with my CTL on it. It was on a pretty good side incline. I had to unload on the pretty steep side hill. I was sure glad it was rubber tracks not steel. The trailer simply wasn’t coming out loaded so I had little choice. There was a steep uphill bank on the low side so even if it slid off the rollover risk was low.
