Well,

I actually had my name (and approved financing) on a new BX22, but the dealer was so miserable to me that I walked away. Anyway, as much as I like the orange, I need an alternative.

Will the TZ24 be able to handle a small backhoe? I need it for tree re-planting, light stump removal, ditch work, and drain hose and underground wire work.

Thanks!
Cort

Cort, You have no location in your profile. There are dealers on this forum that may be able to help you buy a Kubota if you want one. I am in New Hampshire and just started working for a Massey dealer The GC2300 is an excellent machine and so is the Deere 2210. A good dealer for every brand is out there. You just may have to compromise on a brand to get a good dealer. Steve...

Cort ,. Welcome to TBN . I had a simular (sp) experience with a dealer . Yet found one close by (same make ) I could deal with . Maybe you could do the same . If not, Kioti makes one heck of a nice machine (ck 20 ) . And you also might want to look at the JD offerings . Good luck , John

Cort,

My personal opinion for whatever it is worth is the dealer means a lot more than the tractor. The majority of all the tractors out there will do a great job and last a long time for you, but none of them are any good without dealer support. If your comfortable with the Kubota then try and find another dealer fairly close to you. I ended up with a something other because of the dealer. Go out and test them all and go with the one you feel comfortable with and the dealer you like the most. You have lots of options.

As far as the New Holland sub-compacts, they are new but New Holland does have a good reputation and they will treat you right. If you uncomfortable with a new line you still have other choices.

Cort,

As a New Holland dealer we are just now getting information about the TZ's and I have not seen a implement list of what NH is going to offer for this line. However I feel confident that they or a shortline mfg will offer one. The only BX that will take a backhoe is the BX22. The BX2200, 1800, and 1500 are not recomended by Kubota for backhoe operation. We handle both and will let you know as soon as I hear something.

Did you check Kubota's web site to see if there are any other local dealers? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yep, tried 5 or 6, but no one else has a BX22. Oh well, I guess that means I need to keep tractor shopping! I'm off to the local NH dealer in the morning to look at the current line (keeping in mind of course that the new subC's are coming down the pike).

Fortunately, I have a couple strict limitations that are keeping my head from exploding due to the range of choices. First, I'm limited on weight because I need to tow it (TLB) with sport utes (two are limited to 5500lb, one is limited to 6500lb). Second, I'm limited on size because it needs to get around in the woods.

I'm also taking the earlier posts very seriously and putting more weight on the dealer and less on the "color."

You might want to check out the GC2310 which is a tractor/loader/backhoe package. The GC2310 utilizes a subframe that ties the backhoe, loader and tractor together. Removal of the backhoe is easier than the BX22. You do not have to reassemble the entire 3-point as you do on the BX22, the lift arms stay connected on the tractor end but fold up when the backhoe is mounted. Whereas the Kubota has the 3 point arms completely removed.

Thanks for the info on the GC2310. Steve also recommended a GC2300. I just called the dealer about the 2310 and am waiting for price info. He just got one in, so apparently they are actually available (which I'm learning is not always a given).
