New Sun shade (Thanks Mom)

I'm missing something here. When your on the porch with the dog how does the sunshade keep the sun off your head?

I think you've just invented the first Bimini top for tractors. A lot of boats don't look that good! Does it bounce around much, or does it stay put?

Just got done late yesterday (really not done yet) and yep the boating is where I got the idea to do it this way. If it does bounce I will add the extra (shown in blue) brace. Using EMT as the frame work came from my airboating days.

It seems strong I did not think it would be but we put the canvas up wet from dyeing and when it got pull tight all the way around that thing got solid.
Whole lot cheeper than a factory or aftermarket top

I think it's about time I make one. I think I'll get my wife to sew a tight sleeve out of UV treated rip stop. That way, I can just slip it over the frame. No eyelets needed, and no lacing. Yea, I'll let her do all the work. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Funny...but I never realized how nice it is to have a cover over oneself on a hot day!

Several months ago I built a "head protector" for my tractor, which I guess is really a light duty FOPS...

I don't have a picture, but on hot days what I have started doing is clamping a piece of plywood on top to give me some shade...boy does shade make a difference...

I've attached a photo but the plywood is missing...been cool this last couple weeks... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was going to sew it to slip on but Mom talked me into this way because as the canvas stretched it could be kept tight.....39 years old and still got mom looking out for me. Life is good
BTW I tied string like on the rest were the blue line was in the pic and going to the back the same way and you can shake the tractor with the top slip knot and pulled real tight....It's not going anwhere anytime soon
