Tractor
Suzue M1803D
Hello all I am new to TBN and a new tractor owner. I picked up a running Suzue 1803D for $400.00. It has the Mitsubishi K3D 3 cylinder Diesel engine. If I am not mistaken it is a 22hp motor and 18 hp at the pto which runs CCW and is the smaller shaft with more splines then standard. 3 forward speeds and reverse with 3 gearbox speeds. The working hour meter reads 420 hrs but who knows if it has looped or been reset but I can say it runs like a top. I am tryng to figure out a 3 point hitch for the tractor I believe it was built with a 2 point system that appears to have been semi modified but I'm not sure. In the picture of the rear you can see the two studs that I would guess are meant for the lower arms but there is no top link attachment. I am still learning names of parts etc so bare with me as I try and learn what is what and where it belongs.

I am going to try to send a diagram of a tractor diagram with all the 3 point assembly labeled / identified. Was helpful to me. It's a little small, but should be useful. (I don't recall where I found it... somewhere on the net!)

Have you checked to verify the PTO runs counterclockwise?

The bracket on the back, with the pins ("studs") is the mount for a tiller. It fits onto the bracket and is closely coupled to the tractor. For tilling it is a marvelous setup, but restricts you in that nothing else will easily attach.

Down at the bottom of the transmission housing, somewhere on or near where the axle tubes bolt on, there may be another set of pins, or a large hole on each side to attach them. If so, you can buy replacement pins to bolt there, remove the bracket, and then add regular three point lift arms. A top link bracket is readily buildable, and you'll be in business.

That sure is a tough looking machine. I like it.

That looks like a great deal to me. Tires and rims alone are worth it not to mention the engine. Are you sure it's a K3D? It should be stamped on the block somewhere. That seems like a pretty big displacement motor for that size of a tractor but I'm not at all familiar with the Suzue brand. Nice find!

The PTO most def. Runs CCW unfortunately.

There are no other pins or brackets that I see to mount the lower arms for the 3 point hitch. I will take and post a picture today just in case I am missing something. But or now looks like I am gonna have to do some fabricating which shouldn't be a problem. Would like to see some other fabricated systems if there out there.

The Engine is a K3D and it has great power in this machine.

Thanks for the replys guys

I have a M1803 parts book. It didn't have a 3 point for an option, but one could be added. It would require fabricating some lower pin brackets & a top link bracket. Rest of the parts I can supply from aftermarket suppliers. I wasn't aware it was a ccw pto, but from the parts bok it looks like it may have the same shaft as the S370. We do make a reverser for the S370.

Thanks for the info and I will keep your pto reverser in mind. For now I am trying to get my 3 point set up.

I think I have figured out what I am going to do. I parked the Suzue next to a friends Kubota bx2200 and took some measurements. I think I will fabricate a new bracket to accomadate the kubota's 3 point hitch. My only concern is the length of the lower arms. The suzue is quite a bit taller than the kubota and with the same length arms the won't reach as low to the ground. With a draw bar mounted in the 3 point hitch the suzue will be some 4" taller than the kubota with the hydraulics completely lowered. Do you guys think this will be a problem? I could lengthen the arms or find different arms but I like the way the Kubota is set up. It will require less fabrication because the bracing is built into the lower arms.

Thoughts?

You already have a place to mount lower arms on the tractor, why not use that?

I wouldn't worry about the difference in height. There isn't much reason for the arms to depress to ground level as a rule, and the side links are somewhat adjustable anyway. If someone like Lens12 can't help with a salvage or replacement part, I would just buy a kit from Hoye: Yanmar Tractor Parts: 3 POINT KIT - FREE SHIPPING! -

Then add a pair of item H here: Yanmar Tractor Parts: THREE_POINT_HITCH

(Measure your machine and call Hoye to get measurements to verify which machine's pins would work)

I don't know what you mean by bracing built into the arms.

That is a nice tractor, The 3 point on these is a bit different, but very effective. The lift arms slide over the bolts that have the hole for the pin on eaither side of your PTO like 284 International was refering to. I am not sure where the toplink attaches to, but that is the easy part. I looks like the link that @*$ international posted will work, or you can try the lift arms that are on my Iseki. They look almost the same. I'll post a photo below, it was from a question I asked, so disregard the writing about the PTO. I have Mistubushi KE70 enegine in mine, and I had to get a part from a guy in Oregon that only sells Suzue parts, and he was very helpful. He knows everthing there is to know about these tractors. His website is: Small Import Tractor Supply, and Lens12 may also have the parts that you need. I would try the smallimportparts first since Suzue is all he deals with: (503) 628-6319. The 3 point lift set up that some japanese tractors use is this:

I did a bit of research, it looks like what you need to do, is take out those two pins that are there where it looks like the lift arms would attach. Those are lift arm pins that you would attach to an implement. Then you can put this 3 point cross bar in the area where the pins were:CROSS BAR for 3 Pt Hitch Kubota Iseki & Other Tractors | eBay. Then you should be able to use that to attach your lift arms like the setup that I posted prior to this. Below is a photo, and a video of the same model, but with the rotovator that came with the tractors when they were new. I would still give that number I posted earlier a call to be sure. You are talking about lifting close to 800lbs +/- so you want it to be as strong and safe as possible.
