I just got home from my early shift, around 10 am, and "knock, knock". It's my dealer's sales rep. and we sit down to sort this whole thing out...ya right ! Seems they have a TC-33 that the boss wants to push." Have had it a while", he says. "$16000 with loader" he says. " But a gear", I say. Then I think....well, maybe. If that had a hydro, I'd be ALL over it. We'll see just how badly he wants to sell it !

How old is this tractor? I didn't think that they had sold the TC33 w/7308 loaders for a year or two... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

David, there's nothing wrong with the TC33 gear tractor if that's what you want. It does seem like "size creep" is going on here. You are not only bigger than you originally wanted with the TC24D, but also now they are offering you a transmission you also don't really want. Those two issues and a loader that's much more expensive than you'd expect seems to add up to "three strikes," but you'll have to be the one who decides. The only thing that matters is that you will be happy with the tractor you purchase. I wouldn't let me or anyone else talk you into doing something you don't want to do. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have a TC-30 gear, 7308 loader, $14050 last May and I'm certain you can get a TC-30 hydro, 7308 fel for less than $16k. That said, I agree with jinman if you want a tc-24 hydro, fel than get that!!!

dass, you are about to spend a lot of money to buy something you will be living with for a long time. Get what you want to buy, not what the salesman wants to sell. You want to be able to look at this tractor in your garage, smile, and know you got what you wanted, not get a case of the "I should haves". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I was told years ago by a ,then, old timer....When you buy a tractor, always get one size bigger than you think you need. This is a case in point. Had I taken that advise three years ago,we would not be having this conversation. And I would have saved myself some time and money. This time around I plan to heed those words. After having said that,Jinman, you're right . Power and size can creep up on ya in a hurry !

I take it that they have had it since last year .It's at their other store. The home office is about ten miles down the road from me. It will be there Thursday, and I'll find out the whole story. And as in a lot of things, what you want and what you need are not always the same thing. Only thing I know is that it WILL be bigger and It will be BLUE ! And yes I will be... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have looked this tractor over, drove it around the yard and I could be very happy with this machine. It is actually a TC-33D with tilt steering wheel and deluxe 3ph, swivel seat , ect...The clutch is VERY heavy with a tight spring and l o n g throw. To say that it has enough power is an understatement ! They have had this unit since last December and seem anxious to move it. We'll see.
