Hi All,

Thanks to everyone at TBN for the help/support in the tractor buying process. It only took me four weeks and I'm now the proud owner of a TC40D...

Here's a picture of it on the truck.

Fine looking rig, including that truck and trailer. Just no comparison between the handling of a gooseneck and a pull behind trailer.

Yes, that's an excellent trailer setup, but it's the dealers. After having a close look at it though, I know exactly what I want for my setup.

18 ft. 14K capacity. 5th wheel.

Jai,

For the tractor, FEL, arm rests, grill guard, 2 remotes, quick attach, HD bucket w/ 2 hooks, bolt-on toothbar, pallet forks and frame, 6' box blade, and 5' cutter it was $25K even. I financed for 5 yrs at 2.9%.

Compared to some prices here on TBN, I seem to have paid a bit more than some folks but I like the dealer.

I compared to three Kubota dealers (wanted 4330HST) and they were close in price but not close enough. I really wanted orange but my favorite dealer is 100 miles away and they didn't seem willing to help with delivery, pick-up, etc.

Got three JD quotes (4610) and they were ~2K higher.

All in all it's hard to do a detailed comparison between the brands. On the JD tractors, adding the remote hydraulics added significantly to the overall price. They were cheapest on the NH, not much more on the 'Bota, and quite a bit more on the JD. Grill guard is included on Bota but extra on NH and JD, etc.

I'm happy with my purchase and my choice of dealer. They have worked hard to make sure that I'm happy. Given that, a few extra dollars isn't a big deal, etc.

In any case, without the help of everyone on TNB, I would have been very lost throughout the whole process.

Thanks again TBN!

Tom

BigDave,

Yeah, I had to drop the ROPs to get the tractor in the barn. I was just testing everything and after I dropped that load of dirt, she went into the barn. That's why its down.

All in all, though, the ROPs don't help much without your seatbelt on! Do all you guys wear your seatbelts!

Tom
