I've had my '80 b7100d for a few months now and have been lurking here and learning alot. The rear r-1 tires are toast and I'm going to order new ones asap. I read in an old post by Kevin, that his b7100 used 6-12's on the front and 7-16's on the rear, mine has usable 6-12's on the front and 8-16's on the rear, which are worn down to almost no tread at all, and are very dry rotted. I have experienced the 4-wheel drive wind-up/bind-up that many have discussed here before.
My question is, Which size rear tire (r-1's) is the correct size?

The only way to know for sure is to measure the roll-out on the fronts versus the rear. You might also be able to just measure the circumference of the tires and compare that to the rotation ratio. This is a sure case of "your mileage may vary"...

I think that "Kevin" referred to me (Kelvin). I'll have to go back and check that old post when I get a chance.

My B5100/B6100/B7100 owner's manual say that the 7-16 is used on the rear of the B6100D and B6100E and that 8-16 tires are used on the rear of the B7100D (like your tractor has). So it looks like you have the correct tire size on your B7100D.

Hope this helps,
Kelvin

I have a 82' B7100d and I run 6-12 on the front and 8-16 on the back with no problem.
