New Tires

   / New Tires #11
Now $30 is cheap Keith. I have not paid less than $60 per tire, even in smaller 14" size, in over 10 years.
I don't remember exactly. Maybe it was $40. I know it was under $200 out the door. These are the little 13" tires you use on the hybrid trailers (trailer in background of picture...that's my Mom and Stepdad...boy beside me and daughter in blue...wife's behind the lens, as usual), so maybe that's the difference.

Also, they were fresh off the boat. This was mid/late summer and we were down to the last few trips of the season. I felt I was tempting fate with the bias-ply things that came with the new-to-me trailer. The previous owner had two blowouts at the same time, so all the tires were mis-matched. I was taking a trip to the other side of DC and didn't want to deal with a stupid flat on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Making sure you have good tires are one of the cheapest insurance policies you can buy.
