New Titan Implement Tiller in the garden.

How does a PTO tiller deal with rocks? I have a good sized cub cadet walk behind, but appx fist-sized rock will just stall it out straight away. Just curious to what a PTO one does in same situation...

If it binds up there is a slip clutch on the pto shaft. If there is no clutch they usually have a grade 3 pin on the pto that will shear off. you can buy a slip clutch that attaches to the tractor separately but you will need to shorten the shaft.

One thing is for sure... you always want to make sure something other than your gearboxes is going to give...

If your ground is rocky, open the back door and it will throw them out the back rather than trying to purée them an denting up the tiller.
Mine throws them pretty far and leaves them mostly sitting on top of the tilled dirt.

Nice. Just wondered how they handle it since I have lots of rocks and my regular rear tine tiller very much dislikes snagging rocks.

Had option to buy nearly new bush hog brand 4' PTO tiller for $1k with my tractor. Probably should have done that but didn't know if it was something I'd use enough to justify cost.....

I think it’s one of those things that if you have it, you use it more than you thought you would.
When you don’t have one, you pretty much only expect to use it to till a garden (or a pasture) prior to planting.
But when you need to level an area, it’s easy to till up the hard or high spots so you can easily move the loose dirt.
It also churns up a large compost pile pretty well, and its a good counterweight that sits up pretty close to the rear of the tractor. Mine is 78” and weighs 1200lbs.
Its also awesome at finding buried items like garden hoses or old wire fences. LOL

I would buy this tiller again. I bought a five foot Rural King brand made by King Kutter. I got a great deal on it, but I would have no problems buying the Titan Implement tiller. Well made.

I love my tiller behind my XG3025, already done 2 garden spots this last week, have another to do saturday and hoping mine is dry enough to do by then too. Probably get the neighbor across the road done saturday too.

Mine's not a titan, it's an agric. I put new tines on it last fall and man that made a huge difference. and yes they do fluff the soil up and make it powder, provided it's dry and not mud
