New TN-A models

I was reading at http://www.farmersjournal.ie/2003/1115/farmmanagement/machinery/tractor.shtml and the new TN-A models will be made in January. Checked out those front fenders in your link. That is pretty cool. Maybe no more mud slinging up in your face or covering your cab. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

All the TN's have the front fenders as optional equipment. I think NH threw those on for the looks as I doubt they will make them standard as some people don't want to mess around with fenders. Actually, almost all Utility class and larger tractors have otional front fenders till you get into the big artic's which have their fenders built into the machine if they do have them.

Don't the Compacts have front fenders as an option?

Currently there is 4 in the model line that is being replaced by three.

Currently TN55, 60, 70, 75 all availalable in D and S configurations. (D cab, S supersteer) Plain models available in an 8x8 synchro, 8x8 Power Shuttle, 16x16 synchro and 16x16 power shuttle

New TN60,70,75 all available in D & S configs. 8x8 Non Synchro except for shuttle forward and reverse is synchronized, 16x16 in synchro and power shuttle.

If you ever have used a ag tractor in the fields then hop on a road you will understand how nice fenders are. Otherwise you will be ducking lots of large chunks of mud. I don't have fenders on my TN and the operators platform is not to pretty but it is a tractor so I don't worry /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That happens all the time to me on my compact, Robert. I think it's as much from the rear tires as the front tires, especially with the much wider R4s. I'm actually more than a little curious as to how the front fenders mount. I wonder if they are fixed to the frame or axle? Or do they mount to the hub and rotate left and right with the wheels? Also, I don't think I have room to mount my loader on my compact if there is anything on the inside of the wheel. The loader posts "graze" by the wheels with only about 1" clearance as I drive into the loader frame. Finally, when I get to working in my sticky clay mud, somtimes my wheels become so loaded with mud that you can't see the tire tread at all. Perhaps the fenders would act like mud scrapers in that situation. I actually like the idea of front fenders, but I just don't know how practical they would be.

You are right, the loader designs on the compacts make it hard to fit fenders to them. As for the TN's and larger, the fenders mount the the wheel differently on each model but for the most part they mount in such a fashion that they turn with the wheels.

I don't worry about the mud from the back wheels as much as the fronts. in most cases, the mud from the back flies forward and hits the front tires and gets shot back at the operator. This is where the fenders would help for both front and back as it prevents all the mud from flying back at the operator except for an occasional piece that figures a way up somehow.

I just got done playing in some wet clay. The TN is one muddy mess as am I but it happens.
