Tractor
Massey Ferguson 1547
This is my first posting to the forum, but I have read a lot of good threads. I love to garden and I love living in the country. I have a Massey Ferguson 1547, great tractor for my 15 acres. I am considering buying a rototiller to use next spring. I wonder if any one could recommend a good one to pair up with my tractor. My tractor is rated 46 engine hp and 38 PTO hp. Would it handle a 6ft ok or should I go smaller? also, front rotating tines or reverse? which is better?

"I may not do good work.....but I sure am slow!" Welcome to the forum. Great bunch of people here and boo-coodles of knowledge. I have a 30hp Kubota with a 4 foot front rotating tiller from Tractor Supply. It has gear drive which works great and I can't see investing in anything larger (unless you have dozens of acres to till) I only use it twice a year to till up my organic garden rows which I then cover with plastic. Works great. Good luck

Welcome to the forum. A general rule of thumb is a few inches wider then the tire tracks on either side.

Welcome to TBN. What Mike said. You want to cover your tracts. Good luck.
