I grew up farming and have always been around john deeres. I just recently purchased my own home on 3 acres of land, 1/2 lawn, 1/2 woods. I have been thinking of purchasing a compact tractor to do the following-
move firewood, rocks, mulch, dirt, snow, grade, mow, etc.
My neighbor buys and sells kubotas as a hobby and always has 15 at a time. I was going to buy a B7100 with a new woods loader, and then started wanting a JD again. I have been looking at used ones but its hard to find them around my area, so then i was looking into a new JD but its around $15,000 but its 24hp and has a FEL.....
then my dad calls and tells me about Kioti Tractors. Personally i have never hear of them but have been doing some research over the last day. My dad now wants to go in half with me and buy it for me for christmas. His dealer has only one 1914 left. However, its in TN and Im in CT, so I would need to drive 1600 round trip to pick it up. I have never driven one but have driven a shuttle shift case before.... for the price it sounds like you cant beat these though.
Those with 1914s, how many hours do you have on them? how have they performed? any major problems to be aware of?
anys for any and all input, I need to make a decision soon before it is sold.
According to the kioti website, the 1914 is only 19hp and it weights much more at 2132lbs then other tractors its size.... hows the hp on this tractor? is it underpowered?
thanks all
