Hello all,

I took delivery of an 1802D today with under 1000hrs. It has a new
koyker 110 loader, a yanmar tiller and a 4' finshing mower. I got it
for $7100 hope I didn't pay to much for it. I mainly bought it to do
some back-filling and yard work around our house we are building. I
hope it is big enough to handle this stuff.

This is my first "tractor" and I don't really know a whole lot about
them. I am intersted in information regarding required PM to keep
this thing running for a long time. Can anyone help me find a manual
that covers operation main. schedule etc for this tractor?

Thanks,
Chadd

Chadd,
That price sounds about right. You might find the 4' mower a little small but it will work great. I think the 1802/ loader package will work just fine for what you are doing.

I believe the YM220 is the closest to a 1802. We have the manuals for it on our on-line catalog if you would like to order one. -> http://www.hoyetractor.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?

It is a 5' finish mower not a 4', not sure why I thought it was a 4'. So far I have been pretty happy with the tractor. Got to play around on it a little bit but it has been raining here for a few days now and is pretty muddy outside.

Thanks,
Chadd

I took a look at your site and didnt see any YM220 listed. Was it the YM2200 you are talking about?

Thanks,
Chadd

I bought a ym1700 and used a box blade and dirt scoop to do similar projects at our new house. Took a while.. but that old 1700 moved many a yard of dirt with a rear dirt scoop.

You should love your 4wd 1802d.

As for maintenance, always check the fluids.. look for water in the oils ( emulsion.. will look milky ). If you just got it.. check the fluids to see if it needs a service right now.. some sell serviced, if bought from a dealer.. if from a private seller.. many need attention now.

Keep an eye on your front axle lubricant.. but don't overfill.. will blow your seals.

Look for leaks, and when you do service it, clean the transmission screen as well as air and ouil filters.

You may be able to find napa crossover numbers for some filters.. but many of us just by the yanmar correct ones.. sometimes there is very little price difference.

Just common sense stuff. Make sure battery is serviced and clean connections... Your machine probably doesn't have a water pump.. it is a thermosiphon system.. needs to be clean to opperate.. and generally no more that about 40% antifreeze.

Keep here greased too. Use clean fuel.. and if you use a bulk tank, tilt it so water and crud runs to the side lower than the pickup area. Bad fuel / dirt /water are a major source of problems for these deisel engines.

Love it and take care of it! And if you build a barn for it.. make room for 2 tractors... chances are you may get another one at some point... many of us did!

Oh yeah.. one more thing... use 4wd in loose / slippery ground.. not asphalt or concrete... don't want to mess up your front drivetrain.

Chadd, I'm sure AAron will respond, however, meanwhile, at his site you need to click on "Yanmar US models", then "Service Manual", then select model (YM220). YM1802D being "gray market", there are no English manuals, so you have to use the closest US model.

According to my records, an 1802d is a 3 cylinder 4x4 and has a water pump. I've never sold one, but I have sold some 1702d's, 3 cylinder with water pumps and... power steering too!! Nice machines.

I could be wrong on the water pump issue. I know that many of the grey models under model 2xxx did not have them.

If he does have one, he is ahead of the game.

Thanks Norm.
I admit that our catalog could be a lot easier to use. We are working on it.
