Yes, sensor. It's actually tied into the cruise control module, that reads several things. The range lever has a potentiometer that sends a signal through the circuit and then reads which range is selected. There is a sequence to reset this circuit when it's out of whack. (I had the same thing happen to my DK-40). Until you do the reset make sure you are carefull starting the tractor, because sometimes you won't actually be in neutral though it may indicate you are. Engage foot brake for extra safety.
If you do a search for range selector says neutral, or similar you will hopefully find my thread with the sequence outlined to fix this issue.

Wicked! The a bunch! I will look at it and see what I can do.. I know it goes into gears with ease, no grinding but the shifter is a bit off of what the sicker is saying and as I was saying the display was wrong..
I'm not one to have touch the pedal when I do start it... think the hst got me spoiled but good idea for the break.
As long it's nothing major like a bad tranny... I'm OK with the small stuff.. :0)
