New (to me) band saw

I thought the name on the jug was Lenox that my friend uses. I know it dires out so every so often he'll dump some water into the pan so it seams the water may evaporate but the fluid doesn't.

I searched for cutting fluid, cooling fluid with no results.

Congrats on the saw. Once you have it tuned up and cutting square and plumb it will make your fabrication life easier. I use Starrett bi-metal blades on my saws; but neither have liquid cooling. Go with Starrett or Lenox, or another quality bi-metal blade and life will be good.

Check out ENCO or MSC www.mscdirect.com for cutting fluid.

I would look at harbor freight for cutting fluid.

Yeah that is a heckuva nice deal! Sweet! I would love to have a saw like that but no room. I'm already "over capacity"...

If you plan to use bi-metal blades you really don't need coolant. Just don't run it too fast. I have an Ellis 1600 and you do not use coolant with it. Blades last great but you can't reef on them.

My old saw didn't use coolant but I figured sine this one has a coolant pump I would use it. If it would extend the blade life it would be worth it. The down feed on the new saw is so much more precise that blades should last longer.
