Interesting, it comes up for me.

Just trying again.
That's restricted Doosan intranet. Do/did you work there at anytime? See if you can locate any technical instructions on disassembling the gearbox on the 3FM72 rear mount finish mower. Or better yet, it's service manual!
Then PM me and I'll get you my email. Thanks!

It could be something as simple as a plugged vent in the fuel cap. Pull the cap and inspect and clean the vent holes in the center. Have you ever heard a hiss when you removed the cap? Indication something is wrong. A way to also check is just loosen the cap and run it for a while and see if it still dies.

Nope, never worked there. You can view the page in the Bobcat on line parts manual. You can also view the parts manual for the 3FM72 mower. No free repair manual that I know of.

Welcome. The hood release is is on the underside of the frame along the right side of the hood near the front. Crouch down and you'll see it. Pull it down (spring loaded) while lifting upwards ppb the hood. Once open, you'll note that the lower side panels still in place can be removed for better access. The tractor identification badge should be along the right side of the frame as well.

As Wagtail noted, and I would agree, that tractor has probably been neglected and a full change of fluids and filters, as well as every thing else listed in the maintenance section of the manual will only work towards your benefit. Could be anything as serious as a failing fuel pump to something as simple as debris in the fuel tank itself prohibiting flow. That's quite a few hours do anything odd possible. Luckily your friend's husband will probably nail it down pretty quickly.

Best of luck!
FYI On mine I have to push down on the hood while pulling the release

I can't get in there. Your first link took me to a redirection to the Bobcat parts online main page with a blank body. I was trying to get in there a few days before looking for info on reversing the gearbox on said mower as it runs in a proprietary reverse of the standard cutter. Once link took me to a Doosan employee only login for parts resources. I did see somewhere an instance of using Internet Explorer. I don't have that on my phone and, although using Chrome on my laptop, I have upgrade to Windows 10 and have that Edge. I'm not quite sure if I tried it or not and am away from home at present. I just get a blank page on my phone's browser.

The Bobcat book takes internet explorer. I normally use Firefox and it does not work. Chrome did not work either a while back.

I do access it with internet explorer. Haven't tried it with other browsers. I am still running on old Vista.

Glad I'm not the only one...

Anyway. Friend's husband looked at it a couple times. First he thought a solenoid, but now a governor? Any thoughts on that??
