Nice write up on the 110 and glad you are getting some use out of it. Don't know about the dirt in your locale but I roll the stumps around with the hoe bucket to get as much dirt off of them as possible. Sure makes burning easier.

Went and picked the tractor up this morning. Got a picture of the pile. Looks kind of deceiving because I'm at the top of the hill taking the picture, but it's over 6' tall. He says he's going to try and burn it, I don't think it's going to happen without some gasoline...

I did trying and loosen as much as possible, unfortunately most of it was clay, so I had a really hard time getting it all off. I did scrape the sides and wiggle it around as much as I could to get it off though.

Far as the electrical you are on the right path having it done right. An old farmer once told me how he connected wires, wrapped them in cardboard then wrapped them in an old tin can and nailed the can to the rafters. House later burnt down.

For your grapple, just swap the hoses to make it operate opposite they way it is now. When you have it how you like it mark both grapple and tractor lines with colored tie wraps. If you want to keep with JD's color code, use green for the rod end of the cylinders and orange for the head end of the cylinders.

Did you ever send the diverter valve to kennyd? If so did he ever tell you his opinion on the failure?

I thought my tractors were SLOW at 18mph! :cool2: You have the truck, just get a big trailer and you can go as fast as you want. Love that truck!

I'm just glad the house is a modular, that way I KNOW he didn't screw anything up in there, because he never touched it. The electrical running to the house is a different story, which is being replaced also...

The 3rd function is the skid steer type, so there's a male and female connector on each the grapple and tractor. Before I switched them, I wanted to make sure it would work. I do wish it was just the standard connection, though. They wanted the industrial type and I guess it made sense to go with the skid steer style no leak quick disconnects in the front.

Haven't though about it till now, I'll message him.

I do need/want a new trailer. I just have to get the money to buy one. I was looking earlier this year but ended up being a couple thousand more than I wanted to spend. I'll get one eventually though.

Rather than swapping the hydraulic connectors pull apart your joystick - you may be able to just swap the wires there instead - I had to do this on my Yanmar - they set it up completely backwards to the way my mind works.

Looks like you are having a great time and doing well with it! I'd like a backhoe and hydraulic thumb, but only if I can stay IN the cab! It's been a bit warm here lately too and in the afternoon sun some seat time (with AC and radio) has been very nice.

Thanks for the advice but I already swapped the lines. Since I have the diverter it would have only screwed it up for when I have the box blade on it would be 'backwards' again. I posted a thread on another forum here: Switching Hydraulic Lines for Ergonomics. PS: It would be good to see you over there too!

It was fun, but it was HOT! I sure would have liked your cab, but unfortunately I wouldn't have been in it most of the time. When I hit the lotto I plan on adding a Laurin cab like Steve's got:)

Hi Martian

Looks like you are getting some good use out of your 110. I looked at them three years ago when I purchased my B26 trying to keep my costs down after looking at both the 110 and L45 but in the end decided to upgrade to the L45 this year. I still haven't put the cab on because it has been so warm in the Toronto area that I prefer the open station - although not the dust that you referred to as well. With my first son heading of to university in September I have decided that I will stick with the open station until September and then get the cab put on before the cold arrives and the snow starts falling. That will give me a couple of seasons of side work to save up the money to add the A/C to the Laurin cab next spring which I am really looking forward to. My property is pretty sandy and the area where my current building project is is all clay so both of them get quite dusty after a couple of days of no rain when you are running back and forth. I guess that's another vote for a mini-ex - they can't move fast enough to kick up any dust! :)

I have 160 hours on the L45 now so in a few weeks she'll be due for her 200 hour service so while that is being done I'll get the cab installed too.

Good luck with your projects and keep the photos coming.

Regards,

Lauren
