New to me John Deere 4300 and looking for attachments

Hello, ,I just recently purchased a JD4300 as well and really like your setup. I have a 1000' driveway to plow and that would work perfectly. I was wondering how you attached both the front plow and side wing plow. Are there certain mounts that are needed in order to do this modification? Thanks for any help you can supply.

Assume you are asking me about it, since you mentioned the wing plow.

Both the Western plow and the wing plow were fabricated by me.. nothing off the shelf.

The only part I ordered from Deere were the mower mount plates under the front axle that have the hooks for the front mower bail to slip onto.

Fabricated the quick attach for the link between the plow A-frame and the tractor.
For the wing plow, used the FEL bracket that stays with the tractor when the FEL is removed. Dropped down from that bracket to hold the front of the wing (used a trailer hitch/ball to allow pivoting), had the blade made by a local trailer mfg., and push on the rear of the wing with a telescoping push bar that pins into the tractor drawbar. The wing is lifted by throwing a short chain around that push bar and the lift arm of the 3 ph. Lifting the hitch raises the wing.

Thank you for such a quick reply!! I will have to try and figure something out like that b/c i don't want to just attach a plow to the FEL arms. I've heard that causes undue stress on the arms. I have the 430 FEL. Thanks again for your help.

Welcome to the forum!

A loader would be great to have but usually comes with and stays on the tractor.

In the meantime search for a dirt scoop for the back. Tractor Supply has them for $400. Agri Supply has one for $260. Not near as useful as a loader may be but I use mine more than any other implement I have. Have recently been skidding a bunch of logs and stumps and my dirt scoop is the perfect tool for getting under the ends to lift them. I put the chain around them and hook the other end to the scoop frame.

I have a 4310 with a 420 loader and I have had zero issues with the loader. I put a piranha tooth bar on the front of it and use it to rip out shrubbery and other demanding tasks and it works great. It handles my 60" dirt dog grapple with ease for moving around logs and rolling the brush pile.

While the 430 is a better loader I wouldn't hesitate a minute if a 420 came along. I am sure you would be completely satisfied with either loader.
