Here is the Kubota that I bought today. Its an extreamly well kept machine with just one issue. The Propeller Shaft housing needs a new seal I think. It leaks pretty bad and runs down the cover to the front axle support. Looks like it should be a pretty easy fix. Old owner said he had someone fix it in the past but it must have not been done right and started leaking again.

Any how...here is some pictures.

Nice L4150 ! These are great machines. From the pics I can't be sure which end the leak is coming from. The sheet metal shield can be taken off and left off while you pinpoint the leak. Clean and dry the area around the shaft seals at both ends and run it a few hours and see where the oil is coming out. From the pics my bet is front differential input shaft seal.
One of the most helpful publications you can get your hands on is the original Kubota illustrated parts list (there's one available here at the moment. It's a great way to see how the machine is built. There are .pdf versions available online free but the image quality of the factory pub is nicer.

Thanks for the great complement on the machine! I think you are right about the leak. I have to add some more fluid...Its really low and then do like you recomended with dropping the cover and cleaning everything off. Other then that everything else looks very sound.

I got all the original manuals and part list books with the machine from the original owner. He kept everything! Your right these are a must have and really show all the detail that you need to work on them.

Also I dropped by the local Kubota dealer and it seems like pretty much everything is still avalable for these as far as parts go.

I will let you know how I make out here shortly on the leak.

Thank you again for your input...I look forward to more.

Scott
