The telling factor about use/age is ther chute. If the paint is worn off inside, it's been used...plenty.

I would remove the wheels/casters and put on skid shoes. The wheels/casters will just dig into the snow and slide becoming useless.

I don't know about the "plenty" part. I think the paint goes with the first bit of gravel going through the chute. Mine is gone and I've done 3 seasons with maybe 40 hours total use - I'd consider the blower in excellent shape. I'd look at the tips of the impeller, if worn and there's a significant gap from the housing then it's getting serious wear.

Never hurts to get a head start especially if you are a slow skater like moi. :laughing:

Greased my pull behind snow blower up last weekend, as the Starks say, "Winters Coming" put a lot of the summer pull toys away then realized that my walk behind SB (snowblower) is boxed in by the Back hoe, bummer:mur:

Hi all, little update on our old Meteor, got to use it in earnest last weekend and it performed very well in the heavy snow we got. No power issues with the 1900 and the chute repairs that I made work as well. I'll get some action shots as soon as we find a replacement for our recently expired digital camera, take care, Rick
