New to me ( my first ! ) tractor - 1969? Massey Ferguson 3165

Congratulations on getting that machine! When my house was built about 20 years ago I bought an old Case 580CK backhoe to put in the septic system. Even though I knew nothing about either. My Case resembles your machine in size and function and age. I am sure you will find it to be very useful. My Case has done all sorts of work on my 10 acres. I have dug all sorts of ditches and holes, moved many big rocks, put in a road, etc. Have fun!

Update on the machine.

My BIL came and ripped out a bunch of trees a while ago , and the ground is fairly unlevel and bare.

1st real job for the tractor was to level the area.

I learned that the tractor has a self leveling bucket, and using the float function on the loader works pretty well.

I think the backhoe is a little large , the tractor is very tippy, did a few wheelies and learned how to brake steer. The tractor is missing the shuttle shift lever that sticks out the side, definitely need to fabricate a new one as soon as possible.
