The exhaust is really rusted up. Not sure if the factory coating was faulty or what. Not sure how long high temp paint lasts, I've never used it. Any suggestions? Not too big of a deal.

That's odd that it's so rusted... Does the rear wheel splash water up in that area? Hard to tell from the pictures, but it appears that from normal viewing the actual muffler is not seen, so perhaps it was never painted.
I have used high temp paint on my walk behind muffler with ok results, but I kept it coated before any rust formed.

Yes wheel splashes there. Almost like it splashed salt on it.

Going to wash everything now. Wish I had a drain in my shop floor :)

Nice machine !!!

I bought a Z724 in 2015 (I think) and it was around $9600 new--I added work lights and a jack. So far I'm very happy with it.

I have mowed with a BX for 12 years and each spring lusted over a zero turn. I have always talked myself out of it because I love the getting extra use out of the BX as a mower.

I have been keeping an eye on local ads for a zero turn (been looking at all brands, with a preference for Kubota because of the excellent dealer about 5 miles away, plus it will match my two tractors) and came across a Z726XKW 60" commercial duty mower with 156 hours on it that had just recently been serviced (oil and filter change, new blades, new anti scalp rollers, plus new shield).

The guy took $5k for it so it followed me home on the trailer. Kind of odd deal, loaded it up at his place in the dark with a little misty rain, but a deal is a deal. The owner's manual has a price of $11,454 written on it with a date of June 2017. I didn't ask exactly what it cost him out the door, but he did mention it was 11 plus.

Kinda feel like I am cheating on my BX lol

Now I need to price some of those cool looking airless wheels and a suspension seat :) LED lights would be nice too for those occasional late nights.

That's a great deal in my book. I bought a commercial grade Toro new in 2018 for $8500. I would have jumped on that deal had I not had one already.

Thanks for the comments. I'll check into a mulching kit, I would like one.

Going to have to pass on the twill airless rear tires, around $800 each is insane.

I'm going to price a new Kubota suspension seat this week. Hopefully the price isn't too bad. Also considering some Carslile WT300 tires. A good thread here for anyone thinking about going to bar tires on a Z: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/385191-running-tractor-tires-zero-turn.html

I changed my rear tires on my Toro HD2000 to Deestone D405 23X10.50-12 C/6PR . Night and day difference when the ground is slightly damp. I actually tear up the yard much less with these tires and I don't get stuck.
Of course my 2 1/2 acres is not a manicured lawn since I live out in the country.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I mower with it for the first time yesterday, what a machine!! I will say that decision to go to a zero turn came down to time. I have always enjoyed my BX and it is a great mower, just not a speedy mower.

I ordered a Kubota suspension seat, should be in next week. I may also add some custom insulators, to see what I am talking about see my thread on how I done this for my BX. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/379650-added-suspension-seat-my-bx.html

This thing is so fast that I am limited to the smoothness of my yard. We just bought this place in fall of '18 so I haven't gotten around to much yard work yet, been busy on other projects (had to build a shop, fencing, remodel).

After mowing with this, leveling the yard is the next priority. I'll till the worst spots, the rest will get leveled with sand. I just built a leveling drag out of some metal I had laying around. Created a thread for that here: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/423137-lawn-leveling-drag.html#post5687431

I am still thinking about tires, this spun very easily, ground was wet, about as wet as it will ever be and me actually mow. I was just trying to mow between rains.

I really can't believe that new zero turn mowers don't give you an option of tire selection, like tractors. Unless you are manicuring lawns the lawn tires are almost useless. You might give the Deestone D405 or similar tires a try.

LOL. I found that with speed, my time stayed the same. I just increase my "yard".

It's still a fun factor. Speed.
