Just found this sight and really like it. Found some very useful information on my new ride also. Looking forward to hanging around here and picking up some information from time to time........................Here are some pics of my new ride. It is an 07 JD Gator XUV that I have been wanting for a while and finally convinced the wife to let me get it. It has the Great Outdoors package with a couple upgrades: Replaced factory rubber with 27 inch Vampires and installed a 2" lift kit of the front. Also has Garmin GPS installed (can see antenna on top). Pics don't include 2" lift kit, but is gives the Gator a great stance..................I have a whopping 15 miles on it.................Looking forward to conversing with you guys......................Roger

Miles? Doesn't the XUV measure in hours like the HPX?

Got it out today and Gator nearly burnt to the ground !!..............I filled up a feeder and got back on the unit and started it up . When I put it in gear, I heard a pop and noticed a flash around the shifter.. Very quickly there after, the center console, shifter area was on fire................scared the crap outta of me. Unit has 6 hours and 15.7 miles on it.................Talked to dealer and gotta have the melted unit there at 8am on Monday...................I am not a happy camper right now. I had to pull the Gator outta the woods with my 4020 JD (after dealer told me to) and while pulling it in the right front shaft hub assemble came apart and now is in pieces..................I have had lots better days.............................Will post on what happens on Monday at dealer, but this better be a warranty issue or me and JD are going to war !!..............I love the machine so far, but the fire issue nearly hurt me and is something that isn't my fault............................Chime in please to offer advice on this high dollar $$$$$$$ playtoy problem that I have................

My heart goes with you buddy..... I know it like to have broke your heart !!! That is a nice lookin' machine ... Glad you didn't get hurt in all of that !!!

Advise:
When you go to the dealer, I have always said, a kind work and a gun, goes alot further than just a kind word..... Stand your ground, that was not your fault !!!! Seriously, Your dealer should work with you >>>>>>

What the heck is even in there to start fire? You've got a few electrical wires down there I know which could easily start it via a short but I don't recall any combustable material under there.
