If i only do one cycle, i also get white smoke for five or ten seconds. But with two cycles i get little or no smoke. The temps have been no colder then 20f. The machine always starts!

In farness i have to say, it starts 100 times easier then my 310. The 310 makes black smoke when it starts.

I usually by diesel at the local station, i don't ad anti gel unless i am using red fuel.

Why would you use the anti-gel with off-road fuel? Aren't they the same? Only difference is one is taxed and the other is not.

I am not claiming to be an expert, but here is what I know. Regular diesel has anti gel in it, at the apropriate time of year. Red fuel/heating oil does not! I have a 300 gal tank that I use to fill my equipment, I have it filled by my oil company and do a pre pay to get a good deal. If I do not put in anti gel, it does in dead gel! Other than the anti gel, it is the same, just less expensive. I usally put in a gallon of diesel conditioner from Napa, per 300 gals, and it does make my equipment start easier. I will try it next time I fuel my Branson.

I do have to say, I have no troble starting my Branson. Worst case is a little white smoke. It always starts right up. I would love to know why some of these guys are having trouble?

There isn't on and off road.
There is only taxed and not taxed.

They add red dye to the taxed and sell it without tax.
Adding the red dye to the taxed doesn't change the chemical make up of the fuel.

When I first got my Kubota the fuel thing was quite confusing to me but I finally got it figured out.
Now that I have it straightened out I refuse to let anybody re-confuse me.LOL

Your post is pretty confusing and it seems that it is splitting hairs. Sometimes things are best left alone.
It depends on how you refer to it. You can call it taxed/non-taxed, dyed/non-dyed, off-road/road. It really depends on where you are from and what you have grown up around. I see signs up at stations listing off-road diesel.
