And I'm seriously thinking about purchasing an ASV PT100 and mulching head. I've done some research into this topic for awhile and I think that there is a dollar to be made, even with just a small outfit. Comments?

Thanks for the comments guys. I have been looking all over the web at ASV's and Cat's for the last 6 months. I have a buddy that has a couple of ASV's and that is why I am leaning towards this particular brand. I actually had purchased (or so I thought ) a RC100 from a reputable skid steer dealer in Texas only to find out that he sold it out from under me. He had a deposit, I had a bill of sale, and still I lost out and ended up threatening legal action to get my deposit back not to mention having to cancel the trucking I had lined up, the broker and the flights out to confirm that the machine was what he said it was. His "out" as that he had it listed on ebay, and never took it off when I made the deal. "Someone" hit the buy it now option and he said he was bound by his contract. To make a long story short, he was full of crap and I lost out. By the way, I live in Alberta Canada

Thanks for the offers guys but to be quite honest, I'm looking for something newer and with low to no hours on it. The bar I have set for myself is to purchase a unit with 300 hours or less and no older than '08/09. The Terex dealer up here seems to be interested in making a deal on new so who knows, I may go that route. My research now has been mostly pointed towards which brand mulching head to go with. There seems to be a fair assortment out there, and everyone I have contacted swears their equipment is the best. I have time on my side, and it seems as if it is a buyers market out there still, so I continue researching.

Make sure you check out a Takeuchi TL250 high flow. I've only put 100 hr on mine so far but it's far better machine in the woods then my old ASV. I am in the roughest terrain I have ever been in and the Takie is handling it perfectly. If you had a 36 acre rock wall, add a lot of mud and that would be this job. The front idler wheel are much larger then other track loaders so it climbs over rocks and logs much better.

I really am impressed with how the machine handles the terrain.

I spoke with my TEREX rep this morning and what he is telling me is that the bigger 125 HP machine is still over a year away.

I doubt, maybe, but I doubt you will ever see a skid steer go over 100 h.p. mark. It is an emission think. You would have to go over probably 135 hp to get an honest 120 hp with all the emission stuff. I not a engine manufacturer but from what I have been told and have learned that is what is being said.
Now the new ASV is a highly tuned and refined PT-100. More and better developed but still same powerplant.
