Speaking just for myself, I don't seem to need a local dealer. Yanmar chose maintenance parts, fluids & filters etc, and also some wear parts (tires, alternator, regulator, ThermoStart module) that are common on many brands all over the world, so they will be available for years.tony123 said:For those of us that are near a quality dealer, then its a different ballgame. Most Yanmar owners don't have that option.
There is also an active market in replica parts, for example muffler, radiator, 3-point components, that unique air filter etc, that seem to be decent quality comparable to NAPA car parts. The present ROPS are built by the same US manufacturer who built for YanmarUSA 30 years ago.
To find this stuff you need the expertise that traditionally existed only at dealers but now a simple Google search will reveal dealers with broad parts stocks, and also the interchanges to other brands like Nissan and Perkins, and the tire manufacturers. These aren't orphans.
