2007 Kubota GL3240
!st post on this site. Recently sold my old 1989 model Case-International 385 4wd with Case 2200 loader & 286 Bush Hog cutter. I had pretty well done all the land clearing I needed to do with it & it was just too big for my needs at this time. Today I bought a new Kubota GL3240 with 8 speed shuttle, ag tires & with Kubota LA514 FEL. Thought I got a good deal after a week of price comparing with just about every dealer in the state of Arkansas on all 28to 35 horse NHs, MFs, JDs, & Agcos. Didn't consider any others but leaned toward Kubota all the way. I went to buy an L3400 & loader for $14,750, but with offer by dealer to upgrade to GL 3240 & loader for &16,500 (only $1750.00 difference) I couldn't resist all those features & opted for the up grade. Also got a new Woods 5' Brush Bull rotary cutter for $1100.00 to go with it. 3240 looked like a lot more tractor for the money than the L3400.
What do ya'll think?? Good deal or not? Tractor set up & cutter also?
I have really used this site for the last couple weeks as I researched all tractors. Great site. Lot's of good advice.

Congratulations!

I started out looking at the L3400 too. And frankly thought the L3240 was just a L3400 with less HP and more bells/whistles. But after lots of comparing and test drives, I decided to get a L3240 instead. I've been putting it through it's paces for the last few days and am quite happy with how it's performing :)

They delivered machinery yesterday. Kubota GL3240 tractor, Kubota LA514 loader, & 5' Woods Brush Bull cutter. Got to try them out a little. The more I look, the more features I find in upgrade package of GL3240 over L3400. Many not even mentioned in Kubota's promotions. Standard L3400 still looks like a good tractor & good price & I would have been satisfied, I think, with it had the dealer not offered such enticing upgrade deal. Loader is really stout. Brush Bull Cutter cut some head high grass with no strain on tractor or cutter. This is my 1st experience with a compact tractor. I had big standard utility tractors all my life, but now retired, I just want to piddle around. Folding ROPS even (luckily) clears by 2'' to go under a storage shed here in my back yard so I don't have to build a new shed. It's over 100 deg. here in Ark. I'll give it a good tryout when weather cools a bit. (Trying to learn how to post here. Don't know how or where this post will show up.)
