I've heard that the new Cumins engines are quieter than in past years. Is that "coffee grinder" as quiet as they say it is?

Thanks for the replies. No more load for it until the credit heals a bit and I add a four wheeler or two. And yes, it is noticably quieter than the older cummins. I have not heard the 04.5 "600" engines tho.

As you can guess from the screen name, I am a firefighter. And even though the departments trucks are lime yellow, the one in mine fleet remains RED. As far as the tractor goes, mine must have cut out of line when it came time to get the blue paint.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great truck,

I just got a 2004 2500 with the hemi and 410 rear end. Would have loved the cummings but with the new TC30 FEL, and BH the pocket book was to pinched.
