Well it was just mother's day a while ago and that did involve a trip to the jeweler. Sounds like everyone goes through the same process.

I bet the little package costs as much/almost as much/perhaps more than the big package...

So far I am winning but I fear years of payback /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif (jewelry)

And sometimes the cost goes far beyond a dollar amount....

I quietly stand back until I see a new sewing machine pop up in the house, and then go shopping. Sometimes it has to do with a quilting machine too (although the last trip to the Quilters convention in Paducah didn't increase my shopping potential - yet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

( At my house when something new shows up like that it is either my birthday, Christmas or the lovely Mrs_Bob is out of town. So since it is not December, is it your birthday or where is your wife this week?

Heck, we just celebrated our 20th Anniversary earlier this month . . . she got a little box. I still can't believe how much a polished chunk of rock can cost!

Just look at the 'returns' on your investment - forget the cost /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It was the first "polished chunk of rock" that has cost me the most.... If I wouldn't have bought THAT ONE, the ensueing "polished rocks" migh not have ever occurred. (In my world anyway)

That was my mistake, just as we were getting engaged, her car blew an engine so I paid for a new one, about 2 days after the warranty of that replacement engine ended, she destroyed another one. I didn't buy her that first stone . . . I bought her a Jeep Cherokee with a new car warrenty so I could save up some money!!! So now, at 20 years, I had to make up for not giving her the first ring. Eventhough I had a great excuse to bypassing the traditional engagement ring, I still had to pay dearly for the little box that arrived on our 20th Anniversary.

For my present, she is letting me build a new garage and filling it with new tools, a 4 post car lift, etc. The sad thing is I am paying for both presents, hers and mine! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

When I got my new tractor a few months ago, new granite counter tops showed up in my kitchen. Funny how I thought I just had to have that tractor and didn't see any need for new counter tops. I know all you guys understand the principle here.
